Chair of South Asian Studies conducts:

1. B.A and M.A. courses in Oriental studies, specializing in Indology (from 2007/2008);
2. M.A. courses in cultural studies, specializing in Indology (continuation of older programmes only, started before 2007/2008).

M.A. graduates can continue their studies in Indian Linguistics or Literature on Ph.D. courses organized by the Faculty of Oriental Studies.

Indological studies are conducted in four main language groups, i.e. Bengali, Hindi, Sanskrit and Tamil. Besides studying two compulsory Indian languages, students are offered lectures in the history of Indian literatures, history of India, Indian philosophy and different aspects of classical as well as modern South Asian cultures. The language of instruction is Polish.
